FORMER Sale Of The Century co-host Karina Brown will front a lifestyle program based on the Sunday Herald Sun’s successful body+soul colour lift-out.
The Nine Network show, which begins on February 7, is the first on-air collaboration between a major metropolitan newspaper and a television network.
Actor Paul Mercurio, Toby Allen of band Human Nature, and model Erica Heynatz will join Brown as presenters, covering the spectrum of lifestyle issues from health and beauty to alternative therapies and relationships.
Brown said the role was her dream job, allowing her to combine her interest in natural therapies with her television career. “I am studying natural therapies, so when body+soul came up, I was so excited because I can finally combine work and my major interest,” she said. “Society has become carried away with go, go, go and sometimes people miss the point because they don’t have time for anything. “For me, this show will bring back the point and show people how to improve their everyday life.”
body+soul made its Sunday Herald Sun debut mid-year and is carried throughout Australia in News Limited titles. Sunday Herald Sun editor Alan Howe said the television program was an innovative marriage between Australia’s fastest growing newspaper and the nation’s most popular television network.
“body+soul massages the heart of a modern life and adds a valuable dimension to the best-read newspaper in Victoria,” he said. “It appeals to the active and inquisitive spirit of Australians — the great majority of us who want a better and longer life, better health and who want to be better informed about how to achieve those universal goals.
“The body+soul television program is certain to attract a huge audience of Australians wanting to improve the lives of their families.”
