Comments Paul, Paul, Paul, Ellie and I would be there too just to meet you and hug you, but we hate long plane rides and we don't drink! Love you madly, Grandma Mil in Florida Posted by: Momma Mil on April 30, 2003 04:56 PMfrom IP: 209.86.160.79Paul.. Later Timbo Posted by: Tim Hord on April 30, 2003 11:23 PMfrom IP: 216.78.42.251Paul...I, too, would be there if I could. I hate to admit this to you but I have never liked the taste of beer! I have tried and tried and can't do it - that and coffee. Hopefully, another spirit would be served. Linda Posted by: Linda Thomas on May 1, 2003 10:51 AMfrom IP: 216.93.120.118And if I could it'd have to be a soda or some kind of water...I'm a 14 year sober AA kind of guy. But you have one for me....I do remember rather enjoying a few... : ) Posted by: Tim Hord on May 1, 2003 11:15 AMfrom IP: 216.78.43.227Linda I can gaurentee there is a beer out there you would like. Try this one: Kriek Lambic. It is a Belgian beer and is a very sweet/sour beer, very much like champagne. There are several makers such as : Timmermans, Mort Subite, Lindermans, De-Troch and Bell-Vue - these breweries are in fact the only breweries that are legally allowed to brew Lambic Beer in Belgium. The bottles come with a champagne cork in them. You may note that I use the Kriek to make a sorbet - the recipe is in the recipe section. A more typical beer you may like is Hoegaarden - it is a wheat based beer brewed with corriander and orange peel used as part of its flavouring agents. let me know Posted by: Paul on May 1, 2003 12:39 PMfrom IP: 203.23.235.221Hi Paul
Paul: I was introduced to a Chimay (Belgian trappist monk brewed) the red ale and reserve about 15 yrs ago and it has remained a favorite. But I think I'll try your suggestion now too since it seems similar. Another favorite of mine is Grant's Scottish ale (the amber again, a favorite of mine). I guess I'm picky...I drink pales or ambers. But I'm certainly open to learning more!! I like trying home brewed too. However, my palate is a green one to that! LOL. Wish I could come check out the Coopers event. Cheers, I love Cooper's Pale Ale because it is so fizzy! It tastes wonderful as well, but I think the fizziness really adds a refreshing quality. The place that sells it here carries two other Coopers products as well. If you try a larger liquor store you'll probably find it. I think we paid about $10.00 for a six pack. Worth every penny! Michelle/Chicago Posted by: Michelle on May 3, 2003 10:34 PMfrom IP: 12.250.82.140BTW: we have a super pub named Cooper's here in Seattle that's been a long earned "tried n true" favorite of ours... Katalina Posted by: Katalina on May 4, 2003 12:17 PMfrom IP: 12.230.53.151Paul...Thanks for the great tips on other kinds of beers. I will seek them out and give you an update. I would think these would be available in the U.S. and in Metro Detroit. I will be in Chicago mid-June and will try there also.
