Too long away
Good to be busy, even better to be loving what you do! It has been a long time since I have genuinely felt completely content with my working life. Sadly it will all change again in a couple of weeks when I film my last episode of the Food Trail. But that is the nature of this business - you work like a dog and then bang it is all finished and you are back out looking for the next gig. Cant weait for the Food Trail to be on the TV as I think it is going to be a great show and of course I am hoping that the network love it as much as I do and see the advantage to having another 26 episode under way and filming asap!!!:) New Zealand is going great also - the ratings are terrific and the dancers and the NZ team are excellent. Finally got down to Bar Botega for a couple of excellent examples of New Zealand micro brews - Fuggles Bitter, Monks Habit, Emersons 1812 (I think) Bookbinders Bitter, Tuatora Strong Ale and a few others that I can not quite recall.... yes it was a bit like that! I will be heading back there as often as I can. I also love the Wellington Brewing Company for it's good beers and welcoming atmosphere and as it is right on the wharf and harbour the walk to and from it is really peaceful and relaxing. Keep an eye out on the recipe section as I am soon to post some of the great (well I think they are great) dishes that I have invented and cooked on the Food Trail. I have cooked them for some very renowned and good chefs and so far they have all been eaten and none sent back! Time to get on the plane. Note: comments on old entries are closed. Looking forward to your new recipes, now that I have a bit more time on my hands with the end of term. The ones I've tried were fabulous, and believe me, my friends in different parts of the world appreciate them too. Granted, you get the credit for the recipe, me for cooking them :) Speaking of beer, have you ever had the Ethiopian Harar Lager (I think that's what it is called, I should remember, I just had it a few hours ago ...)? Well, I like it, but I don't think I know how to describe the flavor. Anyway ... Posted by: Evelyn on May 23, 2005 12:01 PMfrom IP: 69.24.186.213Paul I wish that I could see the Food Trail. I would love to see you cooking and talking about making beer and delicious dishes. :) Posted by: Tea on May 23, 2005 11:58 PMfrom IP: 63.169.26.201Oh and p.s. yes you were gone away too long :( and this is where I must confess something that you may find a little troubling. Success seems to take you away from us and there is selfish part of me that wants you here at all cost. There I said it. (just teasing, I wish you all the success in your endeavors and many wonderful opportunties - as well as all the best your family) :) Posted by: Tea on May 24, 2005 12:21 AMfrom IP: 63.169.26.201perhaps the "at all costs" is that I am busy and away alot! Thank you for the thoughts Tea! Posted by: Paul on May 28, 2005 07:15 AMfrom IP: 144.135.112.36You're welcome and it's my pleasure and to my delight because you're such a pleasure and so delightful :) Posted by: Tea on May 29, 2005 04:16 AMfrom IP: 67.164.182.64Hi guys I'm finally through the semester. Paul, I talked to the prof. about the "Strictly Ballroom" summary grade and he told me that homeworks are little points all put together, that if I handed it in I already got points, so that's good, I have no idea exactly how it went, but I hope it went well, cos I got an A in the class (YESS!!!!!!!!!!!). That class made me sweat, due to the fact that I'm not a very good writter. Well, that's pretty much the update on my life, and I donno, my advice to you is that try to spend more time with your family..you know, balance it a little bit. I'm sure your wife will appreciate it and so will your daughters. Take care, Sel Posted by: Selena on May 31, 2005 07:48 AMfrom IP: 66.50.6.101Selena, sincere congrats to you on your accomplishment. I went through it too so I know how you feel. (You're happy/relieved and exhausted all at once). Make sure you do something really nice for yourself to celebrate! You deserve it. Godspeed ahead!
