Merry Xmas

Boy it has been a busy couple of weeks!!! Brewing beer, doing some fix ups around the house - I put a new roof on the back section of the house!!! Outdoor type laserlite roofing so it is not as good as it sounds but I sure was pleased. Been doing lots of shopping for pressies and food and all is set and ready for a lovely day tomorrow.

My family is not religious - so there really isnt any religious significance to the day. But we are spiritual and tomorrow is about the celebration of who we are as individuals and more importantly for Xmas day, as opposed to birthdays, who we are as a family. We all look forward to tomorrow as a day to celebrate life and our lives together. There will be much laughter and loving, cooking and cleaning, playing and resting. There will be rejoicing in being together, sharing time and gifts and reflecting on how lucky we are to have each other and how lucky we are to have the lives we live.

I will reflect on how lucky I am to have this site - Thank You Cat - and how wonderful it has been to live, laugh, love and grow with every one here!

I wish you all a wonderful Xmas in which ever way you celebrate it. May laughter and love fill your homes and your hearts.

Paul

Paul, your message is so beautiful and touching, so typically YOU!

May this coming year bring you, your family, (and all that love you), good health, peace and prosperity.

Could it be that with rehearsals starting in February 2006 for "Follies 2007" another reunion of FIF (Follies in February) could become a reality? The show is slated for February 12, 13, 14, 2007...it seems like a long way off, but
one must be optimistic in show biz!

Happy Holidays!

Shalom,

Grandma Mil

Thank you, Paul, for you inspiring words, they lifted my spirit and made me smile! It is a nice time to reflect about and celebrate the many blessings of people in my life, taking a break from stress and frustration and right now I think I really treasure the many good things in my life, the kindness of other people much more so than at other times in my life when I do take some things for granted.

Happy celebrating to you and your family and everyone else here. I've received many blessings from you all throughout the past few years and THANK YOU!

Since technology is a wonderful thing (often), here is a Holiday greeting for you, if you choose to go somewhere else on the net http://www.hickorytech.net/~emeyer/WaterColours5.html Some of you already got this through regular mail

and if you wnat something to laugh about, well I found it very funny, Australian Christmas Jingle Bells, go to http://www.kenduncan.com/gfc_ausxmas.php

Anyhow! Happy Holidays to you all and the very best for the new year!

Evelyn

Beautiful message Paul. Thank you so much for sharing your time and good wishes with us. I really appreciate all you do and say for us.

To all my new and great PC friends out there:

Here's hoping that all of your dreams and wishes come true, tomorrow and in 2006. I'm so looking forward to chatting with all of you in the new year. I have a stirring in my heart telling me that next year will be a good one. I think we all deserve it and are ready for it. Lord knows we've all got the good energy to put out!

Christmas memories for me are a big Italian family get together. Lots of noise. Everyone talking at the same time. An hour to say hello and kiss everyone and another hour to say goodbye. Fasting for as long as possible and then eating till almost ill. (crazy!) Simple gift giving. Nothing too fancy. Alot of Christmas majic and make believe. Great leftovers!

Enjoy!

Merry Christmas to Paul and Andrea and their lovely family, and a Merry Christmas/Happy Hanukka to Cat and to all who are a part of this place.

I have missed chatting with you and have wanted to visit for a long time now, but my days have been too hectic. It has been a tough year financially and despite long, hard days, I have not been able to change our situation. Still, the four of us have our health and we have each other and we're not on the brink of disaster. I have to believe that 2006 will be a better year for us all.

During this holiday break, I hope to create a better schedule that allows for time to keep in touch with Millie, Mary, Michelle, Evelyn, Inn, Monika, Linda, Margie, and everyone. (Thanks, my dear friends, for keeping in touch independently.)

We plan to visit a Buddhist temple tomorrow morning. Jacob has asked to investigate local Buddhist retreats and although this temple isn't very close, the photos on the web site are intriguing. And they have a morning meditation class that we hope to attend.

Yes Paul. It is a time to enjoy who we are as families and as friends. Thank you all for being a part of my journey!

Love,

Diane

Welcome Louise! I hope you enjoy coming here, I do! URL means "Uniform Resource Locator" translating into the address for your/a website.

I had a great Christmas Eve Scandinavian Style at a colleague's house and her family and of course I threw in a few German cullinary elements. Christmas Day I came down with the stomach flu so I stayed home and slept for about 20 hours straight with a few conscious moments in between. Well, at least I can say that I'm very well rested for my job interviews Tuesday evening and Wednesday at noon :-) Speaking of which, I need to pack and study the D.C. metro system so that I know how to get around.

Love to you all!

Merry Christmas everyone! Due to my bad CAR-ma, I spent it alone, but that's ok. I actually wanted to, the car just gave me an excuse to get out of family obligations, hehehe.

I'm at the tearing my hair out stage though. Anybody want my bad car-karma? In the last 3 weeks I've totaled 1 car and killed 3 others a total of 5 times. ARG!!! I hate driving junkers.

Other than that my Christmas was great, and I hope everyone else's was too.

Megan

P.S. Pop in on my site and take a peek at my puppies, they're funny!

I wish you all a very happy Holiday.

This is my first time at the computer in a couple of weeks because I am healing from eye surgery.
I could not read the posts.

We had a good Christmas Eve (Italian Style) and all I did was cook. I didn t feel up to it but I couldn t disappoint the family who have grown with this tradition. Christmas day was much the same, too much food. It is a time for family and friends to be together.

I hope you all have some sort of tradition and if not, start one. It's a wonderful family experience.

Paul I wish you and your family the very best for the New Year.

Greetings from D.C. I'm done with my interviewing now and of course it's back to waiting to see if I made the cut to the next round. But I think they went really well. Today I'm going to meet up with an old friend from grad school who now lives in the area and we are going to hit the town. Looking forward to that and spending time with her and her husband, 1 1/2 day vacation! :-)

Juliet, I hope that you heal completely from your eye surgery. I agree with you about starting or having traditions at this tie of the year. I miss mine from home terribly at this time of the year when I can't be with them, but I've transplanted some of them to over here with my friends, but mostly I get to participate in their family's traditions which is super nice too, but somtimes I just want a chirstmas "my family's way." I really don't want to make this year's christmas day happenings into a tradition though :-)-stomach flus are just not fun!

Got to pack and meet Tracey, can't wait!

Just got back from Bowie MD, spending a week and Christmas with my daughter and her husband's family. We all crashed at Alana's house on Christmas Eve. for good food and board games. My grandson woke us all up on Christmas morning. We opened our presents and then had breakfast. The inlaws went home and I stayed until today.

Oh! Our Christmas musical (which was Dec. 9th 10th & 11th) was a great success. Our costumer wound up in the hospital and I volunteered. I had to get re-aquainted with my sewing machine. I had to make 4 choir robes, alter another Victorian costume for the Renaiassance (sp) scene, make a victorian costume for a girl, and a robe for Joseph. I had my daughter send me Jeff's monk's robe and a dress that I had worn (for Mary) in a medievel event.

The choir robes and monk scene was depicting Joseph Mohr, who wrote Silent Night. It came to him standing on a hill above the quiet village. The organ in his church was broken either due to mice or rust. At the service he played a guitar and four woman sang the carol.

My new granddaughter is a knock out. She just turned 7 months old. She has an incredible head of black hair. It is about 5 inches long down her back. She also has very deep blue eyes. She never lost any of the hair she was born with.

Guess I have rambled on long enough. I wish everyong a belated Merry Christmas and A happy New Year.

Take care and Love to all.

Hope you all had a wonderful Holiday. It seems to build up for months and then it's gone so fast. I swear, the lights all seemed to disappear over night and the traffic is back to being manageable. I was so on top of it this year, for some reason, and then right before Christmas, one of my dear old (12 yr) cats got suddenly very ill. I have had him and his brother since they were 7 weeks old and neither have ever been sick. Knock wood. This ended up being very tramatic for me. I have sheltered myself from tragedy so feverishly that I find I am ill equipped now. I'm working on this. Great lessons are being learned. Anyway, he ended up having hyperthyroidism and will be on daily medication now. He's come back from death's door and I am so happy for this. I hate to see anyone or anything suffering.
So, now life goes on for a while and we see where it takes us again.

Love and peace to all of you.

HELLO PC FRIENDS,

MICHELLE #3-Thank you for your thoughts regarding my daughter Bethany. I will keep everyone posted about her her surgery and recovery.

I would like to wish all of my friends here on the Corner a peaceful and healthy New Year! I'll be spending it with my husband and girls. I made a list of special munchies for my husband to pick up. I told the girls that I was making a spread with special food and some other miscellaneous decorations. I would like it to be "festive". I love New Year's Eve. It's like the air has a "warm and cozy" feeling about it.

Also, a welcome to all Newbies.

LOTS OF HUGS!
