See you next year!
Well talk to you next year!! Ive been to the movies with the family then down to the beach for an evening swim (43 degrees today!!) Just got home from a party and have to feed the kids and have a champagne with the wife!! Next year is only two hours and eight minutes away. I had a few things to say before we got to the new year but I will save them up for the new year instead. A new year of blogs, thoughts and adventures we can share together. I look forward to it! To old friends and new friends I wish you love, joy, health, harmony, prosperity and an abundance of all things positive. Tomorrow is a new year - live it like its the first one, thats what I am going to do! To the journey ahead! Cheers! Note: comments on old entries are closed. Please comment only on the current entry. Comments happy new year paul! my new year is about 13 hours away, cant wait! have a good one everybody! You are so sweet Paul, always thinking of everyone before thinking of yourself. I have to say your Happy New Year wishes have been most heartfelt :) thank you!! xxoo Cheers (oh and the picture of you in my head swimming just made me go a wee bit gaga) Posted by: Tea on January 1, 2006 12:48 AMfrom IP: 67.190.53.44Happy New Year!!! So what is 2006 like, since a whole bunch of you are already in it? I have 9 1/2 hours to go. Looking forward to celebrating with a friend and her family in a few hours, Irish-German style. I have no clue what the Irish do for New Year's celebrations, looking forward to finding it out, though. Best wishes to you, Paul, your family and friends, to Cat, and everyone else who is part of this community. Dream big and then let it happen! May wonderful things come to each and every one. I'm eager to find out what 2006 brings, I like the idea of leaving things behind, having a fresh start and beginning new journeys. 43 degrees!!! I'm jealous. it is about -1 deg. in here, but we're not in on the same continent.. Posted by: Irene on January 1, 2006 05:00 AMfrom IP: 81.175.153.130Happy New Year Paul and family and all my PC buddies! I have 7 hours to go. It was 65 degrees here in Colorado today! Felt like summer. I'm in trouble, because I'm already getting spring fever and we have about 5 months to go! I'm already dreaming of what I want to plant in the garden this summer. I surely wish for a wonderful 2006 for all of us. I am finishing this year out not in the best place, but I know where I want to be and I'll be damned if I can't get there! I'm at work till 10 p.m. and then have been invited to ring in the new year with friends, but think I'll head home before the streets get too bad. Don't want to get in trouble myself either. Talk to you all next year! Bye. MaryS Posted by: MaryS on January 1, 2006 07:09 AMfrom IP: 192.18.101.5The new year is 2 hrs 10 minutes away in Los Angeles, California. Wishing everyone here a very Happy New Year. And in the words of Robin Leach, "wishing you champagne wishes and caviar dreams." Posted by: JozieLee on January 1, 2006 12:44 PMfrom IP: 24.126.83.148Hello everyone, long time no "see" ... you probably do not remember me, but I just had to drop in and wish Paul & Family, Cat, Grandma Mil and Ellie, Evelyn, Mary, Peter, and EVERYONE at PC a very happy and healthy new year! :-) Hopefully I will be able to drop in regularly again and spend time with this wonderful group. Hugs, Happy New Year Everyone! Thank you Paul, for continuing this fantastic blog. I've made a lot of friends here. Nertha. I remember you. Nice to see you again. Big wave to Mary across the pond. Hello to all the newbies and the 'regulars' who stop by here to make my day. May 2006 bring you all health, happiness and prosperity. Be well. Sally C. Posted by: Sally C. on January 1, 2006 08:48 PMfrom IP: 4.238.145.33Happy New Year to all. Paul and the Aussies celebarted a little earlier than us. My friend is also "Down Under" on vacation, and she had to e-mail and let me know she had gone to the beach yesterday. Wish we had that nice warm weather. Northern Cali is getting hit with a series of pretty hard storms. But maybe it's mother natures way of "washing out" the old year, and bringing in the new one. The storm broke for a while last night, and the sun came out just long enough to set and give us all a beautiful end to 2005. Wishing you all health, happiness, and good times for the new year. Best to you all. tracie Posted by: Tracie on January 1, 2006 09:09 PMfrom IP: 68.185.93.198Chin-chin! A very happy new to everyone! It's been really hot here in Australia. Maybe in our case it is mother nature's way to 'sweat out' the old year... lol I hope each and everyone here enjoyed their Christmas and New Year with their family and friends. I wish everyone will have a great year, this year. ~Vivienne =) Posted by: Vivienne on January 3, 2006 03:24 PMfrom IP: 203.58.15.17HELLO PC FRIENDS, NERTHA-I do remember you. Stop in more often!! HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF MY FRIENDS HERE AT PC!! MAY ALL OF YOU CONTINUE TO FIND PEACE, LOVE, JOY AND WIN THE LOTTERY, HA, HA!! I had a "party" for my husband and girls. I made a munchie spread, a cake, and my husband steamed the shrimp. Julia and Kathryn thought it was more like a birthday party. Kathryn wanted to sing Happy Birthday to New Year-so we did!! We all stayed up until midnight, went to bed and that's when Bethany decided it was time for her "all night party"!! She was teething and on the end of a bad cold. I made it to bed around 4:45. Speaking of Bethany....we will be celebrating Bethany's Big One birthday. I'm having small low key party for her. I always do birthdays at home-I find them to be more warm and cozy. HUGS! I had a really strange dream about our Paul the other night. I dreamt that I was in Austraila and I was following him as he rode his motorcycle through all the beautiful parts of Austraila and then he was stopped by an officer, spotted me, asked me if I was from Paul's corner and then him and Andrea were so nice to me and got me on a boat back to the states. I dreamt that the moon there was just so huge and I felt like I was on another planet. LOL Happy New Year!! (don't worry Paul I have no time or money to go to Austraila so your safe) ;) Posted by: Tea on January 4, 2006 12:01 AMfrom IP: 65.207.61.30Hi Sally C and Abeth, thanks so much for the welcome back! :-) You guys have great memory because it's been a while. Abeth hope your little one is feeling better ... teething is exciting but I wish babies didn't have to go through so much pain. Teeth are a wonderful thing, but they hurt when they are "born" and even more when they "die"! Vivienne, I was in chat with an Aussie friend on new year's eve and she mentioned that the temperatures had reached 112F ... you guys are experiencing a sauna rather than a summer! Hope temps have cooled down a bit so you can enjoy the rest of your summer. :-) Wow, Tea, I was all excited about you meeting Paul, and then I read that it had been a dream! LOL So our Paul and Andrea were very nice to you ... then how come they didn't take you to their home for a Merk's beer instead of taking you to a boat? LOL Sorry, could not resist teasing you about the dream. ;-) Seriously, though, I think that your perception of the moon may be correct ... when I was in the Caribbean the moon and stars were just more vivid, and I think larger than what we see in NYC. Then again, we have so many lights it's just about impossible to see the stars ... we get to see the planets, but to see the stars you need to be away from city lights. Hope that one day soon you will be able to see the Australian moon, especially if you win the lottery! :-) Good night ... or is it good morning? Posted by: on January 4, 2006 05:44 PMfrom IP: 68.161.193.58 Happy New year to everyone! Hey Paul, Read any good books lately? *smile* Take care all. Happy New Year!!! New Years was better then Xmas for me, no more car trouble! I went to three parties, ate lots of munchies, and beat my step-siblings at dominos. I mean, what more do you want? lol I hope you all had as good new years as I did. Vacation almost over, and soon I'll be back to the steady grind, funfun. All my best, Tea, Nertha (for some reason craving peach beer ;-) Posted by: Nertha on January 5, 2006 06:06 PMfrom IP: 141.157.251.130It's funny how dreams are huh Nertha. haha I dreamt that Paul and Andrea were a bit wary of me, and who can blame them. Also in that dream, I dreamt that the waters were really choppy and it could have been dangerous. Weird how dreams can be huh Nertha. :) Hopefully your dream comes true though that would be so awesome to try one of Paul's beers. He's such a good cook, i can only imagine the precision he takes to make his beer. Tea Posted by: Tea on January 5, 2006 11:55 PMfrom IP: 65.207.61.30HELLO PC FRIENDS, Just wanted to check in to say hello. And, to update y'all about my daughter. She will be having belly button surgery on 1/27. The doctor thought the hernia looked pretty bad. It will be done on an outpatient basis. Tomorrow, we are celebrating her "Big 1" birthday! I just really cannot believe that it's been a year. She's such a lovely little baby-can't wait to hear her talk and the funny things she'll say!! HUGS! I just saw the new DWTS last night. Tonight one of them will be eliminated. There is some great celebrity talant this time. One is a female Professional Wrestler and did quite well. Paul, there is a professional dancer from Australia named Nick Kosovich. Do you happen to know him? Will we see you as a judge in the US in a future series. We would love to see you there. There has also been a program series called Ballroom Bootcamp. It's quite hiliarious. They pair klutz's with a prof. dancer. Also started is another program where they take 11-12 year olds from poor neighborhoods and teach them ballroom dancing. (I can't remember the name of it) "Senior Moment" I keep missing it, but I figure it has to be funny too. Posted by: marge on January 7, 2006 04:48 AMfrom IP: 4.178.27.65I second the excitement we could all share in the U.S. if you would at least visit and sit in on a few shows of DWTS here. I never watched the show until there was a marathon one weekend and I got caught up in it. It's so fun. But I would be glued to it if Paul was a judge. The new season opener aired tonight, if I'm not mistaken. I think I had the tivo set. I hope I didn't forget. I'm at work now, but will find out soon enough. I saw two young couples from the "Mad Hot Ballroom" team. They were adorable. My children both took ballroom dancing lessons in middle school and then the school held a very proper dance for the kids. It was beautiful and neither of them ever forgot it. I even got to volunteer as a dance partner/instructor. How fun. It should be a part of every school's corriculum. So should P.E. What's this world coming too? lol But see how our wonderful Paul has captured all of us through is beautiful style of dance. Hmmmm, guess I'll be watching SB this weekend again. see you! :) Posted by: MaryS on January 7, 2006 11:06 AMfrom IP: 192.18.101.5Better late then never: HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE IN PC-LAND !! So many new people here, who probably don't know or don't remember me. Welcome to all !! I have wonderful news to share: Well, just wanted to share the good news and wish you all well !! Love to all, Hello all, Well here we are a week+ into the New Year and all is going well...so far. I am not normally pesamistic, but given my track record I am leary!! My oldest, who is 20 wants to join the military. I am ok with it, if he is not in danger...LOL, imagine that. He dosent understand that as a parent, who has lost 1 child already, that I have an unhealthy fear of going thru it again. I am trying to be supportive and understand that he needs to make his own life, but it is so much harder than I ever thought it would be to let go. Is that odd? As far as all else I think the new year could be a good one. My wish for you all is a year of love and peace, comfort, joy and health. As for dreaming of Paul, wow, never had one, but it would be interesting...I dreamed of Elvis once. That was a trip, he was making sure my nails were painted(?). Now that was interesting. Think I would rather follow Paul on a motorcycle....LOL. Cheers to you all Hi Paul, I've just seen you in 'Joseph' and I'm, what's the word, entranced! You brought such a sensitivity to that role as Joseph - very subtle. Your portrayal just grows on the viewer gradually as the film unfolds; you don't overdo it; like a flower unfolding, your character emerges. Beautifully acted. To Nertha: To Molly: ~Viv HELLO PC FRIENDS, MICHELLE #3-Thank you for the birthday wishes! She had a lovely little birthday party!! As for your son-that's a tough one. I imagine it's hard to let go and yet allow them to be their own person. Maybe a heart to heart talk (of course, with you talking him out of it, ha, ha). Do keep us updated. MONIKA-I remember you-welcome back!! HUGS! Hi Paul & All, I think of you often and hold you close in my heart. Head high, elbows up, and moving forward. Love, Hello everyone. I have a message for Michelle #3. If you son is interested in joining the Military, he should think about the Navy. This is the safest branch of the Armed Services, as they are usually on a ship, or at a military base and don't into the fighting areas. My son-in-law is a career Navy person. He is the third generation in his family to serve. I'm going to have to check out the "Mad Hot Ballroom" movie. Sounds like a great thing for young boys & girls to do. It's been raining here in Washington forever, and breaking the record of days of continuous rain. In fact the last time we had so many days of rain was back in the 60's. I can't remember how many days we have so far. I keep my "happy light" on. I get up in the morning, look out the windows and plan my day accordingly. Cricket and I go for our walk most days, her in her raingear and me in mine. Take care, and love to everyone Dear Janice, How good to hear from you again, and yes, "eye candy for the masses" (my Ellie, thank you) is doing okay in spite of my health problems in September. I'm doing better, getting ready for auditions for the next Follies Febr. 2007, and doing my monthly video concerts. I've slowed down a bit, but I still go to the ladies' gym early each morning. Abeth, we'll be thinking of little Bethany, and praying for her quick recovery Nertha, glad you're back, Marge also! Viv, I read in November in an Aussie online newspaper that Tara Morice and her partner, Gregg Morrell, were opening in a two person play. The play was called "Love Letters" which opened at the Parade Theatre in Kensington...it was unique in the fact that other actor-couples appeared in the same play at other times throughout the month, but I am sure that Tara and Gregg were the best couple, with their experience in stage, TV and movies! I made her a special card, sent it on in November, 2 weeks before the play opened, and just the other day, got a lovely postcard from her, thanking me. She and Paul are very special to us, and we were quite touched. Shalom and love, Gran Mil Posted by: Grandma Mil on January 11, 2006 04:59 PMfrom IP: 4.234.147.46Hi All, Marge, Thanks for the advice. In fact it was my line of thought also. My cousin is on the USS HARRY TRUMAN, and she has seen nothing of war since she enlisted 4 years ago. He is going to the Navy recruiter this evening to "talk" about what they offer. Abeth.......how is Bethany? Good I hope. I will continue to keep her in my thoughts and prayers. To everyone. I hope all of you are well, and at the very least DRY. My goodness, I feel soggy even when I am inside...LOL. Michelle#3 Posted by: Michelle #3 on January 12, 2006 05:57 AMfrom IP: 71.34.68.64HELLO PC FRIENDS, MICHELLE #3-Right now, Bethany is doing fine. Her belly button surgery is scheduled for 1/27. The doctor told me it would take longer for me to recover than her, ha, ha!! I'll be glad when it's done and over with. And, why so soggy there-lots of rain? HUGS! HELLO PC FRIENDS, Just wanted to tell y'all to have a lovely weekend. It's been kind of quiet here in PC. Guess everyone is busy.... HUGS! Thank you for that information Grandma Mil. Wow. Tara sent you a postcard, you are so lucky. She sounds like a nice person and very down to earth... just like Paul =) I think I remembered reading about her and Gregg Morrell in a TV week guide once. Was he the actor in Blue Heelers? I remembered reading that Tara also appeared in that TV show. I actually surfed the web before looking if she too has a website, but it doesn't seem like she has one. I would have loved to have seen that (Love Letters) play. Take care, Imagine Paul! Dear Viv, If you go into Google and type "Tara Morice" you will get thousands of hits, mostly about Strictly Once in awhile something comes up that tells us that she is appearing in something, either on Australian TV or movie. She appeared on TV in "Second Chance" with Gregg Morrell, and is now filming a full length She will appear with Heath Ledger and Abbie Cornish in the movie "Candy" which should be coming out soon too. She does not have a starring role, but she's been a working actress over the years in the genre of TV, stage, and film. I wrote my first fan letter to her back in 2001, after I saw "Strictly Ballroom" for the first time. She answered me, saying she was in Florida signing autographs when the movie opened in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, in the 1990's, but my husband and I had just retired in Florida and missed that...I could kick myself! (Paul too, was doing interviews on the East and West coasts to promote the film. These publicity trips were hard work.) Yes, she is so very gracious, and so is our Paul.
I had to order my second DVD of "Strictly Ballroom", for the first one is scratched, so being I want to show SB to the seniors in our community, on our huge DVD screen in March, I want it perfect! The DVD colors are so brilliant, and the acting also. Paul and Tara are marvelous together, and their scenes together are so poignant, that when people state it is a "comedy" I cringe! Cheers! Love and peace, Grandma Mil Posted by: GRANDMA MIL on January 16, 2006 12:23 AMfrom IP: 4.231.201.73You'll just never live it down, Paul! You've captured the hearts of ANYONE that has seen SB...it's just that way! I agree with every wonderful comment ever made about you and SB on this site. Isn't it wonderful to have loyal fans who appreciate your dancing talent, along with your sweet sincere acting style and...your looks! Oh and yeah, we loved the whole movie and still do! :) Posted by: MaryS on January 18, 2006 07:31 AMfrom IP: 192.18.101.5Hello everyone! been busy being sick twice and getting healthy three times in the last 3 weeks :-) and getting some research writing time in before teaching duties resumed, today. I love the interaction time with the students but it also amazes me constantly, how much time that consumes out of each day. I started this day out with rather mixed feelings, because it occurred to me that this might be my last semester teaching here, depending on how the job situation plays out here, I have no clue what they are doing with this search. Sigh! MaryS, while I agree with your “assessment” of SB and what it means to viewers, fans, appreciators of Paul and his work, sometimes it’s really weird to be reminded of something that one has done professionally so many years back and also moved on from, … sometimes I wonder if that is a blessing or less so for Paul. Know what I mean? By the way, I do love the movie! Hi Nertha, it’s good to hear from you. How are the miniatures doing? Abeth, I’ll be thinking of you and Bethany on the 27th. I hope all will go well and complication free! Peter, if you are out there, Happy Birthday to you! Many blessings and much happiness to you! Well, I hope you are out there somewhere, what I meant, out there reading the corner, just not posting as often as you used to. Love to all, so many lovely people on this site! Hope Paul is having fun wrapping up filming and that otherwise things are going well for you and your family! Posted by: Evelyn Meyer on January 18, 2006 09:34 AMfrom IP: 216.114.247.41Hello Grandma Mil, Thank you for that Grandma Mil. You're right about the google. That's what I did before, I googled her name and mostly it is just articles/reviews about SB, not an official site or even a fansite (unofficial ones created by fans) about her. But I'll do what you said, still google her name once in a while for the latest news. Yes. I've been to imdb.com. I love their messageboards, I'm a regular poster there. Have you been to the messageboards? If you have my user name is "spike4dru". I once posted in the Tara Morice board there asking if she had a website, official/fansites, I did get a reply but it is not really an answer, just fellow posters telling me if I found a website let them know. It sounds like you're an SB fan (well, I guess we all are). Have you posted in the SB messageboards (in imdb). It's where people discuss the movie. Take care, Hi all, Hello Everyone, Just popped in to see what's going on. Hope Paul will stop by to let us know how filming went and maybe update us on some new and exciting projects for 2006! Hi to Millie, Abeth, Nertha, Peter (wherever you are, dear), my dear Mary across the pond, and all the new 'faces' here. Welcome to you. Vivienne, I see by your user name you're a BTVS fan. So am I. You can email me off list if you'd like to let me know if you belong to any groups. I had a wild ride halfway to work on Monday. We got an unexpected 4" of snow overnight and the road crews never made it out for rush hour. Well, as careful as I was driving, I hit a patch of ice and went spinning out, hit the guardrail, then smashed into the median. What a ride! My car is totaled, but I am fine, thank God. Someone was watching over me for sure. It takes something like that to make you appreciate who and what you have. Our family was never more connected than it was on Monday, and I know I am truly loved. Take care and be safe everyone. Sally C. Somone told a saying "The grass isn't always greener on the other-it's just different". I love that saying. And, I agree with you-there are many lovely people here. HUGS! Hello all in "paul's Corner". I haven't checked in for a while. Looks like everyone is busy this new year! My friend just got back from Australia. She's tanned and looks relaxed. I'm so jealous! It sounds like the heat was pretty intense there for a few days. With how rainy it's bee here in Northern Cali., I could use some hot weather..... MaryS I am heading to Sonoma for my birthday this weekend. I will hit the Viansa winery on saturday. They have a new Pinot Noir, so I will be interested to try that one. You mentioned that you loved that winery. So I thought I'd mention it. Well, evryone, I hope you continue to be happy and move forward in a joyous maner this year. Evelyn, good luck with the interview! I'm sure you're going to impress. If it's meant for you, it won't pass you by. Abeth, I hope Bethany has a quick recovery and that all will be well. Hello to Paul, Millie, Michelle, Inn, Julie, Monika, Linda, Diane, Dhiana, Tim, Nertha and to everyone in PC. Love to you all,
Viv: I tried to find your postings on the IMDB message board but couldn't find anything on Tara Morice, and couldn't find your email address either. I must be having a "senior moment"! I did leave you a message on your website, which is quite awesome, (the website, not my message.)
Amanda, thanks for pointing out that I called Geoff Morrell "Greg" on PC. I had sent a card to Tara and Geoff on the opening of their play in November at the Parade Theatre in Kensington. I did use "Geoff", thank goodness! I'm so glad your Mum will be moving to Australia! Peter, dear Peter, where art thou??? Hope you and the family are well. Paul, dear Paul, hope the filming is going well. Abeth, keeping Bethany in our thoughts. She'll be fine, take it from Grannie Mil. Evelyn, best wishes on those interviews...you'll be just stupendous, as usual! Shalom and Love, Grandma Mil Posted by: Grandma Mil on January 19, 2006 05:14 PMfrom IP: 4.234.108.62How funny. You and Ellie are truly special people that I hold very dear! Wishing you lots of health and high spirits and strengths. Love you! Happy Birthday also to Tracie! Have a wonderful special day of celebrating! Sally, I'm glad you are okay, sorry about your car though. Have you driven a car since? After I was in a car accident years ago, that was the hardest thing for me, to get back in there, but I made myself do it the same day. Thanks guys for your support. I'm still excited and happily nervous about the upcoming interview. In three weeks, I'll have day one of the two day interview behind me. I got my interview schedule today, Day 1 get up at 4 am to travel there, interview stuff from 12 N until 7:30 PM, Day 2 8:30 AM until 7:30 PM--no breaks! As I'm writing this, I'm sitting here laughing, it seems surreal, but then again, I've done this before, nonetheless, thank god for adrenalin, I'll be on an adrenalin-high for those 2 1/2 days and then I'll crash :-) Love to all! I will be thinking of you. Thank you for your thoughts. Believe it or not, I am still driving after my wreck. You have to around here; no public transportation. I'm trying not to dwell on it, but I drive past the same spot I crashed at every day and I see the guardrail all twisted and bent and wonder how I walked away. Hi to Mary across the pond. Thank you for thinking of me. A few months ago, my pen friend of 40 odd years, from England paid us a visit. I've always wanted to visit her but never had the time or money, but something wonderful came about while she and her husband were here. My daughter and her family became so fascinated with their stories, that when I suggested we all go for a visit, they agreed! Now we are planning our trip to England and I am so excited. Would love to see you then, so who knows? Miracles do happen... Abeth, thinking of you and your little one. Hope all is well with everyone. Enjoy the weekend and take care. Abeth- I hope all is well with you and your little Bethany. Keep us informed. You're in our thoughts. Hope everyone is doing well. p.s. I totally agree that getting stuck with the whole "label" from playing one role, can bite. But at least our Paul is remembered for an excellent feel good movie that brought huge joy to so many. I would hate to be remembered for an ugly role that left a bad taste in the public's mouth! lol Sally C: - - - Grandma Mil: Thanks for the compliments about my website. Tracie, your combination signs are Aquarius/Dog. I don't know Peter's exact birthday so I couldn't tell his combination signs. - - - To Sally C and Grandma Mil:
Hi everyone, Sorry I have been away, but I was busy with a project for one of the miniature magazines where my articles have been appearing. EVELYN, the miniatures are going well and now I'm a "published author"! LOL The project for the February issue of American Miniaturist was a headache. I needed to redo some things when some materials I used didn't work out, but I persevered and it all worked out in the end. ;-) HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all our birthday boys and girls!!! Many, many happy returns of the day. :-) PAUL, great to see that your beer company is coming along so well. We are all rooting for you, all your hard work will pay off handsomely! :-) Hugs, NOTE: Comments are moderated. You must enter a valid email address--it will not be displayed on the page.
