It's my Birthday!
It seems a little self satisfying to put a post up bragging about getting older but I know that there will be one or two people who will want to send me a birthday wish. So now you can. 43 today - struth!! I give thanks to the universe. I am grateful for the opportunities I have had, for the magnificent journey I am on and for the wonderful people I have met along the way. I am indeed a lucky man with three beautiful daughters and a wonerful(and beautiful) wife! I will be getting lots of kisses today! I have just finished my first year of the seventh seven years of my life. They say that the seventh seven is the most important period. It has so far been a very good year with some very important opportunities coming along and baring fruit. I am looking forward to the next year and indeed the next six as I know I will bring to fruition some long held dreams! Note: comments on old entries are closed. Please comment only on the current entry. Comments Happy Birthday, Paul. And good luck with you're food show. My first comment to you in the blog. It's hot here in Florida, while you have the fall weather. Again, Happy Birthday x 43. Sara Posted by: on March 31, 2006 05:29 AMfrom IP: 66.90.49.93After checking the FAQ, I noticed Paul's birthday and thought that people may be posting greetings today, and then I came upon this. Paul, wishing you all the best--you have some great thoughts here! Posted by: Melody on March 31, 2006 06:03 AMfrom IP: 163.192.21.46Well, Paul, the 7th seven explains much. I left you a happy birthday at the tail end of the last post, in which I said something about my 43rd year being one of great learning and growth for me. I can see what you mean, as I have learnd and grown more since that birthday than in the entire 42 previous years. I'm 46 now, and even the last 3 months have been phenomenal! Happy Birthday from the newbie! -Melanie Posted by: on March 31, 2006 07:02 AMfrom IP: 72.66.112.27

Cat Happy 43rd Birthday, Paul! Something I've made. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b347/Foell/forPaul.jpg Lots of Love. HELLO PC FRIENDS, I'll do my usual for friends' birthdays: Ready... Happy Birthday to you, That was done in my best Marilyn Monroe voice that I can muster so early in the morning! MANY HUGS! Abeth - the 7-11 question is not so much looking for a meeting place (okay, meeting would be nice, but NOT in a 7-11), but because they are my point of reference to anything these days. Job #2 is making the rounds of these little havens of indigestion, late at night, then again in the morning to fix whatever didn't work the night before. I SMELL like a 7-11. ick. 2 more weeks and this project will be over. *sigh* . . . . wonder what's next. Paul - hope you got your birthday wishes stated out loud. They only count if they're spoken before midnight. -Melanie Posted by: on March 31, 2006 10:20 PMfrom IP: 72.66.112.27Paul, Wishing you all good things on your special day. Happy birthday! Love to all Happy Birthday to you Paul, Yes, you ARE a lucky man. Happy birthday and best wishes for another great year of life. Peter Posted by: Peter on April 3, 2006 07:09 AMfrom IP: 203.221.242.106I just received a copy of the MRI of my brain showing where the stroke was. When I first looked at it, it was upside and looked like a Llasa Apso. I am still doing great. Love to all Marge Posted by: marge on April 4, 2006 09:35 AMfrom IP: 4.178.27.119Dear Marge, It was good to hear that you are doing well after your stroke. I'll bet you are on a blood thinning regimen, maybe aspirin, maybe something stronger. It is common advice these days for most adults to take an aspirin a day as a precaution, whether or not there are symptoms. 81mg or 325mg is a precaution, if it doesn't cause stomach problems. I take coated aspirin. Peter, so good to hear from you! I hope you and your family are well! Shalom and love, Gran Mil Posted by: Grandma Mil on April 4, 2006 04:35 PMfrom IP: 4.231.202.135Marge, I know you don't know me (yet), but I'm glad to hear you've been recovering so well. You are very humble, strokes are not always as seemingly simple to recover from, you must be a very strong lady. Paul (if you're out there), I tend to lurk on weather sites (look, if you gotta stalk anything, for Pete's sake, stalk the weather!) and noticed a nasty storm approaching your area on Weds. Hope it doesn't hit you, or not too hard, and am glad you're on the "protected" side of Australia, at least from most of the cyclones. Hope all is well with everyone here. -Melanie (who refuses to remain new) Posted by: Melanjie on April 4, 2006 07:03 PMfrom IP: 72.66.10.200Hello Marge. Glad to hear you are recovering so well. Keep it up. Are you suffering any limitations? It sure doesn't sound like it! Stay strong! Anyone know if Paul's area was hit by that storm? Today was my Monday here at work and what a doosy. I'm glad it's winding down. It was 73 degrees here in Colorful Colorado today! The color of Spring is just beginning here. Bulbs are springing but not the trees yet. It's coming though and I'm so excited! Have a good one everyone. MaryS Posted by: MaryS on April 5, 2006 10:37 AMfrom IP: 192.18.101.5HELLO PC FRIENDS, MARGE-Wonderful, wonderful news!! I hope your health continues to move in a positive direction. It's been really quiet here..... I have a birthday coming up and I've been practicing saying my new age since January. It's not a "milestone", I'm just 2 years away from 40!! I hear it all goes downhill but I'm not going down no damn hill!! I want to age the way that I'm supposed to but I'm going to look good doing it. And, absolutely no hair dyeing!! Any thoughts.....about aging that is..... HUGS! Aging is a blessing if you're getting what you are supposed to get and giving what you are supposed to be giving. My two cents... Now...on what happens to the body?? I think God has a sense of humor! Posted by: MaryS on April 7, 2006 08:20 AMfrom IP: 192.18.101.5Paul; FYI Our Washington State Governor, Christine Gregoire will be visiting Melbourne on May 10th. I think she will be there to promote tourism and other Washington products both in New Zeland and Australia. She will also be having some free time to see more of your great country. On a serious note. Have you been watching your blood pressure? Take care HAPPY BELATED B-DAY PAUL! 43 years young. You aren't getting old, just more distinguished. All the best to you and yours. Michelle E. Posted by: Michelle E. on April 12, 2006 12:54 AMfrom IP: 165.154.46.146Dear Gran Millie,
I'm very glad that things are apparently going well for you. I hope it continues indefinitely.
Peter (of the purle suit). Posted by: Peter on April 12, 2006 04:38 AMfrom IP: 203.221.243.245I'm turning 40 here in a couple of months and I wouldn't mind if there wasn't so many race tracks on my face to get there. Posted by: Tea on April 13, 2006 11:11 AMfrom IP: 67.190.53.44Hi all , Peter, always good to hear from you. Time goes so quickly here too, but can't hold back the dawn, and it's another birthday or anniversary. To the 40 year-olds-...these are the best years of your lives, enjoy each day! 50 ain't bad, either is 60, and 70, well, Ellie and I are still involved, planning and rehearsing for the new Follies due in Febr. 2007, and still very excited about it all in spite of some aches and pains which come with the territory! Happy Easter to all our chickies and the newbies here on PC. Shalom and Love, Gran Mil Posted by: Grandma Mil on April 14, 2006 09:03 PMfrom IP: 4.234.132.67Happy Easter everybody! Spring time in the Rockies is shaping up. It hit 85 degress here today. We aren't out of the woods for snow until after Mother's Day and I'm chomping at the bit to work in the garden. I bought two gorgeous columbines today. I think it will be safe to get them into the ground in the next week or so. They're hardy to -40 degrees. If we get anything below 0 from here on out, I'll be mad..as if I can do anything about it. Hope you are all well and happy. Posted by: MaryS on April 15, 2006 08:21 AMfrom IP: 192.18.101.5What a great weekend this is going to be! It started Thursday, because schools were closed, and although I had to work Thursday night, I did manage to see a sign for the Celtic/Highland Festival on the 29th that night, so that's something we can plan to attend. I'm getting a lot of demolition/reconstruction done this weekend, mainly in my closet, which, when one considers used to be just a WALL, and is now a walk-in, well, lots has to be done yet, but lots has been accomplished already. With any luck, I'll find the missing piece of paper that stands between me and my taxes (grrr!!!), so guess I'd better do that before I do any more mudding/sanding/painting. We're planning on such a variety of Easter activities (no White House Egg Roll this year, yea!), but visiting so many types of churches where friends have special things going on. I'm so glad I was able to break out of my one-church- and-one-church-only mold. Hope everyone is well. I'm supposing Paul is, since he's been too busy to visit in the last few weeks, hope he knows his presence is missed. See you all later. -Melanie Posted by: Melanie on April 15, 2006 10:59 PMfrom IP: 71.241.253.216I wish everyone a very happy Easter. Keep up with your traditions, they mean so much to family. A belated 50th anniversary to Millie and Ellie. May you have many more. Enjoy. Juliet S. from White Plains, NY Posted by: Juliet S on April 15, 2006 11:15 PMfrom IP: 152.163.100.196Belated birthday wishes to you Paul. I gather you are busy and happy and I hope every day presents new reason to celebrate this new year in your life. Best to your lovely family, as well. Marge, glad to hear you are going well after a stroke. Best wishes to you for a full and speedy recovery. Millie and Ellie, belated anniversary wishes as well. Thanks for the Passover card. Hello to everyone else and Happy Easter to everyone who celebrates it. I apologize for not visiting sooner. My life has been too busy and too hectic for so many months that I've forgotten how to relax. I know that I've reached a "tipping point" (to borrow the latest hot phrase) and that some change is desperately needed, but I need the down time to just sort it all out. At the very least, I will either close my business or severely cut back for the next school year. Allan is getting some work here and there and it looks like his career is on the upswing; but as my partner in the business, that means I get less help and I can't continue this way. Among other activities, we've been helping our older son get enrollment and scholarship applications in for college. He has been accepted to several in California and elsewhere. I drove him up to UC Santa Cruz this past week. He's trying to figure out if Tulane (in New Orleans) or Syracuse (in New York) would be better. If any of you have insights to share about these places or the environs, please do. Hello to all Newbies (Does that make me an "Oldbie"?) And to all my friends here, though I haven't visited in some time, you have all been in my thoughts and prayers. Have a beautiful week! With love, Diane Posted by: Diane on April 17, 2006 09:37 AMfrom IP: 24.130.97.119Paul, I hate to break the news. Joseph co-star, Michael Atwell, the one who played Judah, died on March 18, 2006. I was very shocked. Can you comment on what you think? Sara Posted by: Sara W on April 19, 2006 05:37 AMfrom IP: 66.90.49.93Do you know how he died? His death is sad, in and of itself, I was just wondering. -Melanie Posted by: Melanie on April 19, 2006 06:38 AMfrom IP: 72.66.10.226Hi Paul Lots of Love. HELLO PC FRIENDS, Since Paul was saavy enough to post his birthday-I'm following suit. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TO ME, I have no problem disclosing my age-38. I've been practicing saying it since January-this way-I would be used to it and have no shock value on my birthday. Of course, my girls, say "wow, that's old". I say back to them "not as old as your father, he's 51". Then it's his turn to have them stare at him in awe!! HUGS! A very happy birthday to you sweet thing Abeth :) Posted by: Tea on April 19, 2006 11:43 PMfrom IP: 67.190.53.44A belated happy birthday Paul ~ I was telling a friend today that about a month ago, I found the DVD of Strictly Ballroom at my local Blockbuster, but my DVD player wasn't functioning. So I was at a friend's home over the weekend, "elderly father sitting" for her while she was out of town. So by the time I went to bed, I was feeling pretty down. So I dug my SB DVD out of my overnight bag, and FINALLY got to watch it on her TV. It sounds like maybe I have never seen it before, but I have seen it probably 20 times, but it was so cool to know that I can just watch it whenever. I just wanted to say that after watching that movie ~ you and the movie lifted my spirits back to normal and I went to bed feeling pretty damn good!!! I never tire of watching the movie. I just wanted you to know how much fun that movie is and thanks for making it. Also love that you have such a personal website and post here. I will be sure to check back often as I am impressed by a public personality who is so down to earth and in touch with REAL LIFE!!! Patricia Posted by: Patricia (Oregon, USA) on April 24, 2006 11:08 AMfrom IP: 172.191.122.156Diane, it's so good to hear from you! I hope that you get the time you need for yourself very soon. It will be well-deserved when it comes. Wishing you continued success with all your family ventures. Take care. Peter, I hope you've recovered from your shock at this stage and that the withdrawal symptoms are not still lingering. I'm sending love downunder to you to help with the recovery. Hope all is well with you! Sally, sending my best wishes to you too and hoping life is good for you. Abeth, belated happy birthday wishes to you! Hope it was a good one.
