CAT-Happy Birthday!! hugs, Happy Birthday Cat! Julie Posted by: Julie on October 7, 2006 02:01 AMfrom IP: 65.2.253.182HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAT!! It's your gift to us by starting this web several years ago, and keeping it clean and entertaining. On a Sad note, I had to put my last cat 'Smokey' down. He was 17. I have never had to go look for a new cat. So if there is a lost or stray one out there, they will find me. Take care and love to all. Happy Happy Birthday Cat! Meeeeeow!
My sister's husband just suddenly passed away this last weekend and I can't even travel to be with her, due to the cats. I love them with my whole life, and putting them in a shelter for a week or having someone come to my home twice a day to give medicine is just too much. I'm trying to figure out how to do this. Hang in there and I hope a new buddy crosses your path soon. Great to see everyone! I missed it. (She lives not far from us here in Florida.) It's belated now, but the wish will go on for the entire year. -Melanie Posted by: Melanie on October 8, 2006 05:33 AMfrom IP: 71.126.157.15Joining all of you to say Happy Birthday, Ms. Cat! Thanks for making this available to us. To Marge--I had my cat, Samantha, for almost 22 years and it is very heartbreaking to lose such a dear companion (or companions). Even worse to make *the decision* to put them down as I did mine. My heart goes to you. To Mary S--Samantha also had thyroid meds for her last 5 years, and I tried once to take a vacation so my vet's office boarded her. As great as they are with pet care, they had quite a time with her. She wouldn't eat, wouldn't take the medicine. There was only one assistant that she took to but she didn't work everyday. My heart goes to you, too, for both your cats and brother-in-law. Melody Posted by: Melody on October 10, 2006 06:33 AMfrom IP: 163.192.21.44Thank you Melody. My Aspen is on a transdermal version of the thyroid medicine, so twice a day I put the correct amount onto my gloved finger and rub the gel into his ear. So much easier than giving a pill. More expensive too. I didn't think I could do the pill. He would not do well with me leaving him at the cat hospital while I left town. Even at home would be too much for someone who he doesn't know to give his meds. I have the love and responsibility of caring for him for the rest of his life. He's still like a kitten in many ways. This weekend he romped around the house with his brother like a wild animal! lol They truly are companions when you are alone. I know how all the cat ladies of the world became such. I only have the two but for 13 years..so when they are gone, I need to get a life. lol Best to you. Posted by: MaryS on October 11, 2006 09:08 AMfrom IP: 192.18.101.5NOTE: Comments are moderated.
