Nice Singing Paul! except for that last note, that was a bit off key :-)

and definitely a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you Cat! Hope everyone treated you especially well, spoiled you rotten, showered you with all sorts of expressions of love and appreciation. And as my bestest friend Ari would say "You are a really swell person!" Happy Brithday, Cat!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAT!!

It's your gift to us by starting this web several years ago, and keeping it clean and entertaining.

On a Sad note, I had to put my last cat 'Smokey' down. He was 17. I have never had to go look for a new cat. So if there is a lost or stray one out there, they will find me.

Take care and love to all.

Happy Happy Birthday Cat! Meeeeeow!

Marge, so sorry to hear about losing your "friend." I have two 13 yr old brother tabbys. One is on thyroid meds for the rest of his life. He's truly one of my best friends.

My sister's husband just suddenly passed away this last weekend and I can't even travel to be with her, due to the cats. I love them with my whole life, and putting them in a shelter for a week or having someone come to my home twice a day to give medicine is just too much. I'm trying to figure out how to do this.

Hang in there and I hope a new buddy crosses your path soon.

Great to see everyone! I missed it.

Dearest Cat,

Congratulations, but also, another well earned "Thank You!" for all that you have done to
bring us all together in honor of Paul and his work.

The correspondence among the "Follies in February" SB gang that came to Florida in 2005 is still ongoing, and I even have the pleasure of seeing and talking to our dear and beautiful Julie in person once in awhile, time permitting! (She lives not far from us here in Florida.)

So: "At words poetic, I'm so pathetic,
That I always have found it best,
Instead of getting 'em off my chest,
To let 'em rest unexpressed,
I hate parading my serenading
As I'll probably miss a bar,
But if this ditty is not so pretty,
At least it'll tell you
How great you are:
You're the top,
You're the Coliseum,
You're the top,
You're the Louve Museum,
You're a melody from a symphony by Strauss,
You're a Bendel bonnet,
A Shakespeare's sonnet,
You're Mickey Mouse.
You're the Nile,
You're the Tower of Pisa,
You're the smile
On the Mona Lisa,
I'm a worthless check, a total wreck a flop,
But if, baby, I'm the bottom you're the top!"

Mary, dear, keep that smile with some more verses! (We're still talking about Cat.)

You're the top,
You're Mahatma Gandhi,
You're the top,
You're Napoleon Brandy,
You're the purple light
Of a summer night in Spain,
You're the National Gallery,
You're Garbo's salary
You're cellophane,
You're sublime,
You're a turkey dinner,
You're the time
Of a Derby winner,
I'm a toy balloon
That's fated soon to pop,
But if, baby, I'm the bottom,
You're the top!

You're the top,
You're a Waldorf salad,
You're the top,
You're a Berlin ballad,
You're the boats that glide
On the sleepy Zuider Zee,
You're an old Dutch master,
You're Lady Astor,
You're broccoli!
You're romance,
You're the stepps of Russia,
You're the pants
On a Broadway usher,
I'm a broken doll, a blop
But if baby, I'm the bottom
You're the top!"

(Thanks again, Cole Porter)

Love and Shalom

Hey, Happy Birthday, Cat! It's belated now, but the wish will go on for the entire year.

Joining all of you to say Happy Birthday, Ms. Cat! Thanks for making this available to us.

To Marge--I had my cat, Samantha, for almost 22 years and it is very heartbreaking to lose such a dear companion (or companions). Even worse to make *the decision* to put them down as I did mine. My heart goes to you.

To Mary S--Samantha also had thyroid meds for her last 5 years, and I tried once to take a vacation so my vet's office boarded her. As great as they are with pet care, they had quite a time with her. She wouldn't eat, wouldn't take the medicine. There was only one assistant that she took to but she didn't work everyday. My heart goes to you, too, for both your cats and brother-in-law.

Thank you Melody. My Aspen is on a transdermal version of the thyroid medicine, so twice a day I put the correct amount onto my gloved finger and rub the gel into his ear. So much easier than giving a pill. More expensive too. I didn't think I could do the pill. He would not do well with me leaving him at the cat hospital while I left town. Even at home would be too much for someone who he doesn't know to give his meds. I have the love and responsibility of caring for him for the rest of his life. He's still like a kitten in many ways. This weekend he romped around the house with his brother like a wild animal! lol

They truly are companions when you are alone. I know how all the cat ladies of the world became such. I only have the two but for 13 years..so when they are gone, I need to get a life. lol

Best to you.
