Hey Cat how do I put more than one pic on??

Posted by: Paul on April 25, 2009 12:57 PMfrom IP: 58.107.187.215

Those are beautiful pictures!

Posted by: Evelyn on April 25, 2009 09:01 PMfrom IP: 70.238.158.29

I love th pic and tried to figure out how it was shot. Is there a prize for figuring out how it was shot? :) (When you said work it out--you meant for the viewer to figure the puzzling shots? or were you working out some thing else?)

I guess the last shot was done on a trampoline or after a jump as your hair is up and Andrea's earring was flinging. Great puzzler. Thanks.

They were dancing and Paul just jumped in the air.
Being dancers they can get some serious air!

I saw these photos online several years ago, hey were cool then and still cool now! Very sexy Andrea!! ok Paul, you are not too bad either.

I guess the last photo could have been shot on the side but I think Andrea is setting back farther than Paul so that he is not really on top of her. But I don't really think we are supposed to be analizing them but what the hey, It's my day off.

Evelyn, hope your heel is feeling better.

Love to all

No tricks, no tramps, just ability and a dancers fitness and prowess. Ah those were the days!

Posted by: Paul on April 26, 2009 08:55 AMfrom IP: 58.107.187.215

Andrea wanted me to make it clear that these pics werent taken this year! Actually they werent taken this century. They were in fact taken about 16 years ago.

Posted by: Paul on April 26, 2009 09:33 AMfrom IP: 58.107.187.215

These are simply awesome! This last one is fabulous!

(Paul, your face looks like "Oh sh--! How do I get down!?!")

Liz, I enjoyed the interview you posted, and appreciate Paul for his honesty (and sensitivity), and we're because of that.

Went to a local Genealogical Society today--learn some groundwork on finding more about where our family is from. What a Pandora's box!

But it was really interesting. Also interesting was several people I met--our lives have travelled paths, yet we never met each other--I guess we were meant to be there today.

Happy weekend all!

(Grandma Mil--hope those eyes are healing well!)

I just read my post--

two words are missing--and it's close to 1:00 a.m. Chi-time.

I'd correct this, but it's way past my bedtime! LOL

Cheers, all!

Melody, I am 2 hours later here. Doing your genealogy sounds interesting; I think I will do mine too as my cousin tells me acc to my grandmother that we are descended from royalty that got stuck on the island--this is where getting the facts helps as the story I am getting is really fantastic. (tall tales are better tales)

I accidentally posted and started a thread on picture 2.

Love the pictures of Paul and Andrea--it is like Adonis and His Wife (that would be the title)

In the past and still recently, I've had a BLAST looking at the pics on the links at this site. I love how there is so much to look at besides just our conversations on the "corner".

Paul and Andrea: YOU ROCK!! 16 years ago or not. Can you believe how time flies??

You're still a gorgeous guy Paul. Seasoned, wise and SUPER SUPER talented! I've always called you a renaissance man and I mean it!

Posted by: MaryS on April 27, 2009 12:43 PMfrom IP: 67.190.130.217

It's so amazing what the human body is capable of in that condition. I am amazed you weren't using a trampoline! Aren't there still dancers in their 40s? I'm in my 40s I still feel pretty young. Although I admit that my metabolism is not what it used to be and I have to work out harder and watch what I eat more to look in shape. It's annoying...all the wisdom, or feeling of having wisdom, is worth it though ;)

Thanks for sharing the pics Paul!

Kelli, my heel is slightly better than on Sat. but I do have plantar faciitis :( at least not a stress fracture which is what they looked into first. Man, I just had built up a really nice momentum in running again ... The suddenness with which this kicked in surprises me, I went for a 7.3 KM run Friday evening, no problem, and woke up with this injury the next day. Not pleased ... but choose to live :D

Posted by: Evelyn on April 28, 2009 10:06 AMfrom IP: 70.238.158.29

Evelyn,

Glad you are well as can be.
If I had ran a 7.4M run...... I wouldn't have woke up at all the next day. Or if I had it would have been with a heart attack.

Love to all,

Kelly

Evelyn--have you tried taking a standard 12 oz plastic water bottle, fill with water about 7/8 full, freeze it and then once frozen, use as a foot roller. Feels great after being on your feet and really helps with inflammation. Great after pounding all afternoon in flamenco classes! LOL

MaryS, I agree with you. Paul is certainly a renaissance man.

Paul and Andrea's pictures are really beautiful--maybe more video can be added of their dance careers--Paul, is more available?

I've checked Paul's website (and Cat's, too) overtime and this is really great from Paul's movies to his recipes, pictures, interviews.

I'm also glad MM videos are on YouTube.

Would add more, but have to get back here! Finally stopped raining, and of course, true to Chicago, cooler . . . spring zings in Chicago!

Posted by: Melody on April 29, 2009 03:33 AMfrom IP: 163.192.12.153

Melody, thanks for that tip. I usually only freeze water bottles in the summer before I go hiking, that way I always have nice cool water that's slowly melting. Will freeze some for my foot now.
Is there anything I can/should do to prevent this in the future? This is the first time I got this.

Posted by: Evelyn on April 29, 2009 05:09 AMfrom IP: 165.134.13.74

I agree these shots are wonderful. My body never could do any of this. This girl can't jump (in volleyball I couldn't spike, but I could set the ball ANYWERE the spikers wanted it!!!) I LOVE the last shot -- have loved it since the first time I saw it! I wish there was video of it as I'd love to see the motion which created it!!

Evelyn, sorry to hear about your foot. I hope it is feeling better today.

Melody, another great thing for inflammation is Noni juice. Tastes aweful, but works great when my back gets tied up in knots and won't move.

Hello Grandma Mil; I hope you are better and that your vision is better.

In terms of athletic activities I don't have any but do climb mountains (hills) (nontechnical) if you can walk you can do it; the ascent is hard but a good workout.

Work is so hard now I actually resigned but have time to transition. Say in a bad economy I should not be choosy but I still would be doing the same even if the economy is good, in other words I needed to do what I know is right and leave the toxic environment but what a cliff I have to jump off from!!! It will be tough but I have been through these many times.

This tells you how famous Paul is; it is a story about 2 corrupt guys who happened to be shot with Paul (good pciture if you can crop it so you just have Paul)--the story does not have anything to do with Paul just that it draws attention bec they tacked on Paul's name to the story --Ah to be famous!

Gee--I felt like I was reading a Chicago Tribune newstory! Just change a few names and you have our friends at City Hall! lol

Thanks to a friend who couldn't use her tickets, I was able to see The Joffrey Ballet last night--their 2009 Spring program. What a fabulous show--awesome dancers.

There was a point where I saw the guys doing their tours and jetes and thought "Paul could easily be up there . . ."

While they do classical ballet, they're mostly contemporary ballet--they did Najinska's "Les Noces"--actually enjoyed the ballet, but I'm not particularly fond of Stravinsky.

They did a fabulous pas de deux, "Valses Poeticos" by Granados, chor by Helgi Tomasson, another fabulous ballet by their founder Gerald Arpino, "Round of Angels"--phenomenal!

Their last piece was based on the music of Carousel (Richard Rodgers). Originally set on NY City, but first time performed by them. While this showed it was "new", it still was beautifully danced.

While watching Angels I also thought of Paul and Andrea, thinking of the clip on YouTube--they would have performed this ballet beautifully had they been casted.

Finally some decent Spring weather in Chicago--it's Polish Constitution weekend in Chicago, too. Have my small Polish flag in the window. Long ago, I was in the annual parade in Polish costume, dancing down the street . . . where have the years gone??

Posted by: Melody on May 3, 2009 09:20 AMfrom IP: 75.3.77.225

Melody I love the Paul and Andrea video although they said they were not together as partners as much when they danced. Is a pas de deux same as paso doble? (seems to translate the same); the Joffrey Ballet sounds enjoyable to watch but they have not toured our town).

Posted by: Liz on May 3, 2009 10:52 PMfrom IP: 98.246.154.243

*hopes to sneak back in*

Melody, you typed "Stravinsky" and I twitched. Definitely one composer I can do without listening to. Glad you had a wonderful time at the ballet. :D

Grandma Mil, wonderful news that your surgeries went well and you are recovering.

Kelly, I'm glad your son is well. As you said, personal items can be replaced - people cannot.

Apologies (yet again) for my absence. I was out of town for 10 days (NY and Montreal), and then upon returning home I was diagnosed with another sinus infection, and I had a bad hit of depression. Now I'm back to myself (or as back as I ever am), and trying to catch up on everything here. I had a wonderful time in Montreal with my best friend. For those on Facebook you may have seen the photos I've posted. If you click on my name below, it will link to the photos from the Montreal Biodome.

Right now we're in what I call "monsoon season" in VA. It's been raining since last night, and we are expecting rain all week. I have nothing against the rain, I just want sun! LOL

I hope all are well and that you all enjoyed your weekends. :D

Hey Sarah; I hope you are getting treated for your sinus infection; it sounds like you have this often--did they check you for allergies or other risk fx? also how are you doing with your moods--if it is a bad hit it needs to be treated; what happened to you lately? how are you doing in VA and are you alone there now versus having your friends in NY or Montreal; pls let me know. Liz.

Posted by: liz on May 4, 2009 07:22 AMfrom IP: 98.246.154.243

Yeah Sarah and the PCs, I was just checking the web for news: Paul's series has been renewed and filming startin in May (now!); read the news:

http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/story/0,23739,25339998-5003422,00.html

Posted by: Liz on May 4, 2009 08:40 AMfrom IP: 98.246.154.243

Liz, thanks for your concerns. I'm actually over the sinus infection now. I went to the doctor a couple days after returning home from NY. He put me on a "cocktail" of an antibiotic, antihistamine with decongestant, and prednisone. This was to be added to the Rhinocort spray I use daily to treat my chronic rhinitis. Yes, I do have seasonal allergies (and I was taking an antihistamine for that) and the above-mentioned chronic rhinitis. Chances are that the first upper respiratory infection I had prior to my trip never fully disappeared, and then it came back with a vengeance. Sadly I've been plagued by sinus problems since around age 20. But I'm breathing much easier now (despite insanely high pollen levels) and am only intermittently taking the antihistamine with decongestant. (It's supposed to be 1 two time a day, but I'm ok with 1 ever other day right now.)

As for my mental state... I'm back on my antidepressants. Today was really horrible for me with shaking and crying. I can only guess on the reason(s) for this latest hit of depression. It would be difficult to explain here as I have difficulty even explaining it verbally. Possibly the best way to give an idea of the problem is to say that a lot of difficult things hit me at once, and I just wasn't ready to handle it all. Thankfully I have some really fantastic friends who look out for me, one of whom is my second self. I just need to take things one day at a time.

I'm also trying to find the motivation I need to do the things that are necessary. I know that is vague, but in my mind I know what it means. LOL Basically I need to clean out my house (it could easily be declared a national disaster zone), finish putting my deck furniture together (if it would ever stop raining...), and start walking daily. I live on a quiet road in the country that is 1.25 miles in length. It is the perfect place to get myself into a walking regimen... but it seems that everytime I vow to start, something stops me. First it was the sinus infection and now it's the rain. (Sorry, I'm not a fan of walking in the rain.) Could someone please ask Mother Nature to send some sun my way?

Wow, I'm really going on and on about me. I'm sorry to bother everyone with this.

I'm happy to see Paul's series has been renewed. I keep hoping that one day we in the US will see him on Food Network or public broadcasting. :)

Ok, it's just after 3:00a here. I supposed I should attempt to sleep. (Did I mention the insomnia?)

Today seems like a horrible day with you unable to sleep and crying and shaking. And to get sinus, allergies and rain on top of that. Where we are it always rains so we are used to walking in the rain or having a wedding in the rain. Do send us the rain as we won't mind it here. I notice your time stamp is late so you are up and do not get rest and the inertia to get started the next day seems so huge. I am all for you just letting your house stay as it is and do not assemble the deck furniture until summer. Your second caring self reminds you to take it slow and is patient that you are taking it one day at a time. I am glad that you have seen your doctor/Nurse Practitioner and are able to talk about what's going on. A lot has gone on--you just had a major loss with your dad passing, you changed jobs, was in a molasses pace relationship--I keep too many details in my head as I follow this blog--do not mean to be nosy. It is hardest to reach out when you feel like this but this would be the time to let us know what's going on with you. Will be waiting to hear from you.

Liz, today is better than yesterday. I have good days with the bad. Sadly part of this current depression causes severe insomnia. Once I fall asleep I sleep well, it's just the falling asleep part. LOL The past year has been trying for me, and I know there are some people who wouldn't have held together as well as I have. I just have to keep talking positive to myself. As for the cleaning... it must be done. My best friend is coming for a short visit the end of this month and right now I can't even see the bed in the guestroom. So at least a minimal amount of cleaning/straightening must be done. As for the furniture, I'd rather have it done as soon as possible. :) Thanks again for your concern. It really does mean a lot.

Sarah, looks like you are working it out as the photo on this blog shows. (Paul looks like he is in deep thought or /alarm? and his body is like a contortionist's--all twisted). It takes time and some days are better and then some days may be a set back. Thanks for letting me know how it is. Let me know how tomorrow is...no quick solutions I think.

Hi Paul,
Well, I just loved DWTS and find it a bit of a let-down now that it's all finished for now. Hope you've got new projects on the go so you can bounce back from that high and find equilibrium again!
I found this series especially satisfying as the dancer I was mostly voting for got to win this time! I was so impressed with how far Barbara had progressed over the series, but was always captivated by Tamati's real feel for the dance and music, his verve and watchability.
Actually I thought that he and Rebecca would have been duking it out at the end, but that was not to be.
I recognise a bit of her bouncy keenness in my personality too (the "dizzy blonde" syndrome - a non-PC pop-psychology description of her kind of enthusiasm!) I mostly use my energy & why-not moments with the little children I play with at Playcentre, but hope to have a go at some dancing myself sometime too.
I hear that the dance studios get a surge in enrolments after DWTS shows!

Love, Love, LOVE the article done by theage.com. It opened up another "inner" side of Paul. LOVED IT!!!

Oh, I do SO wish I could get MM here in Oklahoma USA!!!!!! I can't even watch YouTube videos and other videos online without my computer having to download for AN HOUR just to watch 3 minutes (and I'm not kidding or exagerating (SP?). I have actually timed it!!!

Hope all of you are well and enjoying spring in the northern hemisphere.:-)

How did I get pulled into the debate about the best part of the article? *shocked expression* I really enjoyed the interview, and the fact that the interviewer reads PC. The photo is nice as well, but for me learning things about the people I admire isn't always "visual."

We actually had some sun today and that helped my mood. I have a dentist appointment at 8:00a. Have I mentioned how much I am *not* a morning person - especially when dealing with insomnia? LOL

Sarah getting up early to have your teeth cleaned sounds like a bit of a chore; I asked you for your opinion bec I am curious what the PCs thought of the article or of the MM videos. Have a great dental cleaning day and get it done with...Next wk I am travelling poss to Canada but the west side.

Sadly I didn't have the appointment for a cleaning. I was on visit #2 regarding a broken molar. Friday they fit me for a permanent crown and put on a temporary crown. My jaw was a bit sore after from all the times I had to keep biting into the molding stuff.

After the dentist I went to the beauty salon. I had decided a week or so ago that I wanted to get a body wave, and I knew I needed to clean up the ends with a trim. It looks nice, only it's a good bit shorter than I'd planned - probably close to 4 inches shorter. But it's hair and it will grow back. :)

Happy Mothers Day all!

Evelyn, So sorry we couldn't get our schedules to cooincide so we could meet, maybe next time. I am so bummed......

On a happy note, Tom made me a huge steak dinner with baked potatoe and corn and pasta salad sooooooooo good. He grilled everything, even the potatoes. YUM

Clay bought me a Blackberry Curve and accessories. WOW.... It is awesome,

Paige gave me...... less attitude. even better than a Blackberry.

Off to bed for work tonight. I have a job interview in the morning.

Love to all,

Kelly

It would really have been nice to meet in person Kelly, I'm bummed that I set my alarm clock for Sunday morning, have vague memories of hearing it and blissfully sleeping another 3 hours (well the latter part I'm not bummed about as I was very exhausted from the academic conference and needed the sleep obviously, which also made the 7 1/2 hour drive back more safe-never made it in 7 1/2 hours before) but bummed that it meant missing you!
How did the job interview go today Kelly?

Love to all & belated happy mother's day!

I got it, its only a temp job till October but now I can go part time at Walmart and make some better money. Maybe this will lead to something else, who knows. I have to go to orientation tommorrow and a drug test.

It will be nice if Walmart lets me go part time.
If not I will be working 2 full time jobs.
Love to all

Liz, I'm actually not a natural redhead but most people think I am. I updated my link with a picture of the new "do."

I hope all the mothers in PC had a lovely day yesterday. I spent mine with my "godchildren." Closest to motherhood I've come so far. ;)

Sarah, you look like a natural redhead bec you picked a color that looks natural. Goes with your blue eyes. I see you had a wave done. Good to have godchildren; it is so much harder to have them I heard ( I don't have children either). How are you doing in terms of your sleep?

Paige and I got rear ended yesterday. I can barely move. Paige is so sore. We were at a red light waiting for it to change green and got hit from behind full speed. I have been rear ended before but it was nothing like this. I didn't feel the soreness right away like we did yesterday. The girl that hit us totaled her car. It was bad. She was fine but the front of her car is smooshed up into her winsheild, I couldnt believe she was fine. Thank God Paige is fine, Thank God we all are. Funy thing is Tom was supposed to take the truck yesterday and not the convertable. He took the convertable for some reason, had we been in the convertable, we would not be here, I fear. My trucks bumper was pushed down and in so no big deal. Tom thinks the frame is bent. My insurance agent says she can get us $500.00 for sure for the truck but it sucks I just dropped the truck from full coverage to plpd. That sucks but as long as we are all ok then its fine.

Liz, the links are awesome, thank you so very much. I don't feel like I am missing out on a good thing.

Paul, tell Erin,my pugs say hello. I will try to post some photos of them on my Facebook for her.

Love to all,
Kelly
